The Black Men at Penn are a group of concerned African-American men who are launching an initiative to create an Institute located within the School of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania. The purpose of the Institute will be to establish a permanent forum that will maintain and expand efforts to recognize historical and current racial injustices in our society and to develop strategies for overcoming these disparities. The Institute will conduct research and recommend best practices in a strategic and deliberate approach to continue the work of the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 1960's.
TDCG is working with the Black Men at Penn to create a strategic and practical plan that will result in the creation of this Institute. The plan will identify the short and long-term goals required to raise $10 million to create the Institute.
